A universal POS for modern retail
Reliable counter billing for small retailers — kirana, sweets, and grocery shops — built offline-first from day one. The sale completes at the counter, with or without internet.
The problem
Small counters deserve serious software
Shops that sell by weight, count, and volume juggle paper bills, mental stock counts, and supplier dues — while generic billing tools assume a barcode, a cart, and always-on internet. VetriPOS is being built for the counter as it actually works: fast weighing, split payments, held bills, and stock that must reconcile to the paisa.
Verified in code and tests
Current capabilities
Only functionality verified in code and tests is listed here. Everything else lives under Planned roadmap.
Counter billing
Weighed, counted and volume lines, open items, %/₹ discounts, split Cash/UPI/Card/Credit tender, UPI QR, shareable receipts.
Bills that survive
Hold and resume across restarts, full bill history, pro-rated returns and voids. A committed sale is never edited.
Real stock
Purchases with weighted-average costing, supplier ledger, wastage, transfers, recipes, cash book, and customer dues.
Trustworthy numbers
Integer-only money math, GST-aware tax frozen per sale line, gap-free invoice numbers per store, counter and financial year.
Accounts and roles
Owner, manager and cashier sign-in with scoped on-device permissions — cashiers never see cost or profit.
Tested foundation
712 automated tests green across backend, shared domain and app — rerun in this repo before any claim is made.
Confirmed in source
Technology foundation
One shared Kotlin domain kernel powers the Android app and the transactional service — pricing, tax and stock logic exist exactly once.

- Multi-counter sync with QR pairing and offline operation log
- Stable-weight scale capture for weighed items

- Portal-signed e-invoice
- Suggest-only on-device vision for weighed items — never prices, taxes or weighs
Honest status
Development status
The single-device offline POS is functional and tested: billing, inventory, suppliers, and reports run on-device with an atomic, audited sale transaction behind them.
Multi-counter sync and intelligence features are architecture-reserved stubs and specifications — not running features. No performance figures, pilots, customers, or launch dates are claimed.
